Lauren Mancia, Associate History Professor, recently published her book, .
The work examines medieval monastic meditation, prayer, and retrospection during the eleventh and twelfth centuries where monks and nuns used Benedictine and Cistercian spiritual writings used to live a devotional Christian life.
Professor Mancia also cohosted a two-day conference with Professor Brian Sowers called聽Fragments of Experience: Approaching 鈥淟ived Religion鈥 From Late Antiquity to the Central Middle Ages from June 5-6. The conference gathered 13 experts from various disciplinary fields to discuss the everyday experiences of religious individuals from centuries ago.
