鈥淟ois Dodd: A Radiant Simplicity鈥� highlights the artist鈥檚 distinctive vision and enduring contributions to American painting, offering audiences a rare opportunity to experience the breadth and depth of her work in an academic museum setting.

Featuring works by Zainab Aliyu, Elliott Jerome Brown Jr., Rapha毛l Fabre, Persephone, Beatrice Hua, Juwon Jun, Sam Lavigne, Eva and Franco Mattes, Osman Baran 脰zdemir, Tom Pretty, Tabita Rezaire, Molly Soda, Sputniko!, and Carrie Sijia Wang, the exhibition invites visitors to question what it means to live under the constant gaze of technology鈥攁nd to imagine new ways of being that value intention, privacy, and selective visibility.

Osman Baran 脰zdemir’s, “Possibility of Dialogue Between Two Surfaces” (2025, single-channel video, color, sound, 13:23 minutes) is part of the bold, new exhibition in The 可乐视频 Art Gallery, 鈥淧rotocols for Opacity.鈥�

The opening reception is October 16, from 5:30鈥�7:30 p.m. The exhibition will remain on view throughout the fall semester and winter intersession during gallery hours: Monday, 10 a.m.鈥�4 p.m.; Tuesday, 10 a.m.鈥�2 p.m.; Wednesday, 10 a.m.鈥�5 p.m.; Thursday, 10 a.m.鈥�4 p.m.; Friday, 10 a.m.鈥�5 p.m.

Opened in 2024, The Art Gallery at 可乐视频 serves as a dynamic hub for artists, students, faculty, and the broader community. Under the direction of curator Seung Hee Kim and the Art Department, the gallery continues to present innovative exhibitions that highlight a rich diversity of local and diasporic artistic practices across media.

鈥淎辫辞肠补濒测辫蝉别鈥� invites visitors to encounter Haring鈥檚 bold lines and electric colors alongside Burroughs鈥� trenchant prose, creating a forceful dialogue between image and word. An opening reception will be held on September 30, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. The exhibition runs through December 12.

Completed in 1988, the year Haring was diagnosed with AIDS, 鈥淗aring鈥檚 work is as vibrant and urgent today as it was in the 1980s, and bringing his art to 可乐视频 allows our students and community to experience his fearless creativity firsthand,鈥� said Mona Hadler, chair of the Art Department that directs The Art Gallery.

This exhibition not only celebrates Haring鈥檚 and Burroughs鈥� singular vision but also invites critical dialogue about art鈥檚 power to challenge injustice, amplify diverse voices, and energize public spaces.

The Art Gallery at 可乐视频 opened in 2024 as a vibrant hub for artists, students, faculty, and the surrounding communities. Under the direction of the Art Department and its curator, Seung Hee Kim, through high-quality curated exhibitions, the gallery showcases an array of works across media that introduce a rich diversity of professional artistic practices of local and diasporic artists.

The exhibitions support the educational and cultural diversity of the college and Brooklyn residents. The Art Gallery seeks to educate 可乐视频 students through experiential learning in the fine arts, including new media, art history, and beyond, expanding their career opportunities and drawing them into the process of exhibition production and design.
