Center for Achievement in Science Education

Opening Opportunities in Science

The Center for Achievement in Science Education (CASE) is a campus-based initiative, formed in fall 2005, to maximize the resources of science research and science programs and the talents of program staff.

The main goal of CASE is to broaden the scientific community and help students pursue undergraduate and graduate degrees in science, scientific research, and technology. These goals are met and exceeded through the efforts of students, faculty, and administrators who provide countless hours of student mentoring and support.

Through these programs, faculty host students in their labs and give formal and informal academic counseling. Administrators plan, host, and conduct workshops on myriad topics such as graduate application program prep and interview skills. Students support each other through structured peer-led team learning activities to supplement instruction in gateway science classes, one-on-one tutoring, and recreational activities. All events and activities sponsored and/or hosted by any CASE member program are open to any student in a CASE member program. This practice allows the college to offer a menu of academic and personal enhancement opportunities鈥攃areer workshops, financial counseling, graduate application program prep, personal statement writing鈥攖o CASE students. In a sense, through CASE, 可乐视频 has expanded its offerings to include many opportunities that are essential to the holistic development of mature, well-trained scientists.

Science Research Day

可乐视频 will be hosting its annual Science Day on Friday, May 3. The event will include poster presentations of research work by 可乐视频 science students at all levels鈥攗ndergraduate and graduate students.
