The Conservatory is pleased to announce the addition of several new adjunct faculty to our already impressive ranks.聽Two-time Grammy-nominated violinist Jesse Mills, a graduate of the Juilliard School, brings a wide-ranging background in classical and contemporary performance, frequently聽appearing with well-known traditional chamber groups, as a pioneer of contemporary works, and as a renowned improvisational artist, as well as being a composer.
Esteemed pianist Mirian Conti聽has performed solo and orchestral recitals in the United States, Asia, Europe, Africa, Canada, and Latin America and recorded extensively.聽Recipient of many awards for outstanding achievement in the promoting of Hispanic musical culture,聽Conti is an active adjudicator for major international piano competitions, has conducted master classes and lectures on Spanish and American piano repertoire, and organized numerous festivals and concert series.聽She has taught on The Juilliard School’s Evening Division faculty since 2007.
A graduate of Juilliard and the Yale School of Music, trumpeter Mikio Sasaki is an active performer in a wide variety of musical styles. In addition to teaching trumpet, Mikio will be directing the Conservatory’s storied Brass Ensemble.
Versatile multi-reed player Todd Groves is a New York City-based performer and composer specializing in saxophones, flutes, clarinets, recorders, and ethnic flutes. He performs regularly in a variety of musical settings including jazz, classical, commercial, and ethnic music and his credits read like a virtual who’s who of the Broadway, pop, and jazz scenes. He joins the Conservatory principally as a saxophone instructor who can additionally impart the knowledge and skills needed for doubling duty for musicians active on the New York scene.
