Black and Latino Male Initiative (BLMI)

Empowering Men to be Leaders of Tomorrow

The ¿ÉÀÖÊÓƵ Black and Latino Male Initiative (BLMI) is a program with the goal of supporting men from underrepresented backgrounds throughout their college experience by improving, advocating for, and supporting their inclusion and educational success. BLMI embodies ¿ÉÀÖÊÓƵ’s mission through its commitment to the education of immigrants and students from diverse backgrounds. While our program has a focus on serving men, our services and programs are open to all students.

Our Mission

The Black and Latino Male Initiative provides committed academic, socioemotional, and professional support while empowering students from underrepresented populations, including immigrants and first generation. Particular attention is paid to African, African American/black, Caribbean, and Latino/Hispanic men. Increasing the enrollment, retention, and graduation rates of the target population is central to BLMI’s commitment.
