Can I pursue more than one concentration as a film major?

No, that is not possible.聽However, there is no limit to the number of courses that you may take in film or the areas of study in which you take them.

Does the Film Department require a reel, a portfolio, or any other sample of creative work?

There is no reel or portfolio requirement for prospective film students. Students who are accepted to 可乐视频 are automatically eligible to enroll in film classes.

Does the Film Department use film or video?

The department uses both digital and 16mm film formats.

As a film major with a concentration in film production, can I specialize in one aspect of production, such as directing or cinematography?

The concentration in film production is a generalist program that requires students to take courses in screenwriting, directing, cinematography, sound, and editing.聽However, advanced courses are available to allow you to hone your skills in a particular area of production.

Can I complete the certificate in either film production or screenwriting in fewer than two years?

No, it is not possible to complete the program in fewer than two years because of the order of prerequisites for each required class.

If I completed film classes at another school, can I transfer the credits for those classes and use them toward my film major at 可乐视频?

Yes.聽However, all film credits are subject to evaluation by the department chair.聽Incoming transfer students must schedule an appointment with the chair to review their transcripts.

Do I need to own my own equipment to be a film production major?

The Film Department has a wide variety of camera, lighting, grip, and sound equipment available to film students for use in completing exercises, short projects, and short films.
