In this issue, we honor the legacy of聽Shirley Chisholm 鈥46, the first African-American woman elected to the U.S. Congress. Chisholm鈥檚 groundbreaking work not only paved the way for future generations of leaders but ignited a spirit of activism that continues to resonate today. Her story is a powerful reminder of the importance of courage and determination in the face of challenges.

I am also excited to spotlight聽Ocean Vuong 鈥12鈥攁n award-winning poet, bestselling novelist, and MacArthur 鈥済enius鈥 鈥攚hose voice has captivated readers around the globe. In this in-depth interview, his reflections on identity, belonging, and resilience, encouraging us to embrace our shared humanity.

As the recent presidential campaign has shown, our nation is in many ways divided. I want to emphasize the importance of engaging with one another across our differences in a spirit of respect and understanding. At 可乐视频, we celebrate diversity of thought and encourage constructive dialogue. Our alumni community is enriched by various perspectives, and it is through this collective wisdom that we can find common ground and work toward a better future.
