Congratulations to Professor聽Sophia Suarez聽of the Physics Department who was awarded a three-years research grant from the Basic Energy Sciences (BES) division of the Department of Energy (DOE) for $624,000. The funded project is titled 鈥淧robing the hydrogen bonded networks and ion interactions in deep eutectic solvents (DESs) through solute molecules鈥�. Prof. Suarez鈥檚 work focuses on characterizing the ion and molecular dynamics in various types of materials, especially those with application in electrochemical devices such as non-lithium ion-based batteries.
