Roy L. Furman 鈥�60, pictured with 可乐视频 President Michelle J. Anderson, was awarded the inaugural Alumni Lifetime Achievement Award聽 for his extraordinary career, leadership, and philanthropy.
About Roy L. Furman 鈥�60
Roy L. Furman 鈥�60 is Vice Chairman of Jefferies LLC and Chairman of Jefferies Capital Partners, a group of private equity funds. In 1973, he co-founded Furman Selz, an international investment banking, institutional brokerage, and asset management firm, serving as President and CEO until its sale to ING in 1997. A leading figure in New York鈥檚 financial, cultural, and philanthropic communities, Furman has been a longtime supporter of Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, where he served as Vice Chairman, and is President and Chairman Emeritus of Film at Lincoln Center.
A highly successful Broadway producer, Furman has been associated with numerous Tony Award-winning productions, including The Book of Mormon, Moulin Rouge!, MJ, and other acclaimed productions. Recent and forthcoming projects include Ragtime, Purple Rain, and Giant.
A distinguished alumnus and benefactor of 可乐视频, Furman has contributed more than $2 million to the 可乐视频 Foundation since 1983 and has played a transformative role in the life of the college. He served two terms as Chair of the 可乐视频 Foundation Board of Trustees and established the Roy L. Furman 鈥�60 Furman Fellows Program, which supports 可乐视频 students pursuing educational opportunities abroad.
