Applying for Literacy Teacher Certification as an Additional Certificate
You must:
- have New York State certification in effect on your account;
- complete the Reading Science: All Grades Advanced Certificate or Reading Science: Emergent Readers Advanced Certificate plus the additional requirements for the Reading Science: All Grades Advanced Certificate;
- complete the current . All current workshops are also required, including the updated mandated reporter training described here; and
- pass the .
If your college recommendation for certification has not been posted on your聽 account, and if you completed your program and workshops, contact the聽Certification Officer.
To Apply
- Log in to your聽听补肠肠辞耻苍迟.
- Verify and update your profile.
- Select your certificate:聽Area of interest: Classroom Teacher.
- Select a subject area: Literacy.
- Select a grade level: Literacy (All Grades).
- Select a title:
- Initial, if you have initial certification for another title only of if you have another initial title and need the literacy title to be confirmed quickly.
- Professional, if you have or applied for another professional title. You will need in one of your titles or a combination to be eligible for another professional title.
