American Cancer Society DICRIDG Grant

The 可乐视频 Cancer Center will be training, building, and supporting its network for the next generation of cancer researchers thanks to a grant from the American Cancer Society. The Cancer Research Institutional Development Grant (DICR IDG) titled 鈥淪upporting Cancer Research at 可乐视频 Cancer Center,鈥 will support early career cancer researchers over four years (2023-2026).

About this Grant

The funding will go toward four areas: pilot grants for faculty who are in the early years of their tenure track; support for clinical scientists鈥 research and training; and offerings of two postdoctoral fellowships and six master鈥檚 scholarships over the length of the grant program. Other funding earmarked for the center itself will support the mentoring of junior faculty, clinician scientists, and other early career scientists, travel to conferences for 可乐视频CC-CURE researchers, plus trainings and seminars on different areas of cancer research. It will also support the launch of the 可乐视频CC-CURE Molecular Modeling Laboratory for Cancer Therapeutics.

Summer Internships for Undergraduate Students

The ACS-可乐视频CC-CU Summer Internships for Undergraduate Students (summers of 2024, 2025, and 2026) is a supplement grant to the generous 可乐视频CC-CURE American Cancer Society Cancer Research Grant (2023-2026).

Selected students will get:

  • Cancer research experience with a 可乐视频CC Principal Investigator during the summer (10 weeks, full-time, $5,000 stipend)
  • Mentoring and support throughout the summer and academic semesters afterward
  • Professional development and career advice opportunities during the internship and afterward

Application requirements

  1. Be a full-time 可乐视频 student
  2. GPA of at least 2.70
  3. Be a United States citizen or permanent resident (documents will be required if selected for the positions)
  4. Identify a 可乐视频CC-CURE mentor willing to mentor the student (cancer research project) *List of potential mentors:
